Old dogs make
great new friends

After much deliberation, we at Albert's Dog Lounge have deemed it necessary to increase our adoption fee to keep pace with the rising costs of veterinary costs and supplies. Beginning in the new year, January 1, 2023, Albert's Dog Lounge adoption fees will slightly increase to $300 for a single dog and $550 for a bonded pair or a pair of dogs adopted at the same time.

This was a tough decision to make, and we understand how it affects our adopters. Therefore, we thank you for your ongoing support and trust that these changes will help us continue providing quality care and medical support to the senior and special needs dogs who enter our program.

Albert's Dog Lounge is a foster-based rescue providing compassionate care to special needs, senior, and hospice dogs.

Before applying, we strongly suggest reviewing Albert’s Dog Lounge Adoption Policies as a whole, using the button below. By applying you are attesting and agreeing to the Terms of Adoption and that you have read and understand our adoption policies.

  • Please do not apply if pets in the home are not up to date.

  • Applications with incomplete information will not be processed.

  • All current dogs in the home must be spayed or neutered, current on annual wellness exams, up to date on a rabies vaccination, up to date on distemper (DHPP, DHLPP, DAPPV etc.), up to date on heartworm testing and monthly heartworm preventatives.

  • All cats in the home must be spayed or neutered and up to date on a rabies vaccination and annual wellness exams.

  • All dogs will be indoor dogs only.

  • None of our dogs will be adopted by prospective owners who mislead or fail to provide accurate information on the adoption application and/or the adoption contract. Albert's Dog Lounge reserves the right to refuse adoption to anyone.

  • Albert's Dog Lounge does not allow adoptions to adopters who use pain or fear-based training tools or methods (including but not limited to prong/pinch collars, shock collars, choke chains, forcing a dog onto it is back, etc.). These tools/methods are considered cruel and inhumane.

  • Adopters must agree to read the provided material in the dog's folder regarding introductions with other pets and the settling in period. We believe that following this information is vital for successful adoption!

  • Adopters MUST agree that if you are no longer able to keep your rescue dog for whatever reason, the dog will be returned to Albert's Dog Lounge and Albert's must be given a reasonable amount of time to find a foster. The adopter must agree to never attempt to sell or rehome the dog at any point.

  • An approved application does not guarantee a certain dog and we do not guarantee adoption the same day as a meet and greet.

  • Our goal is to ensure it is a good fit for all involved and the best interests of the dog are met.

When completing the application, please be as thorough as possible. Once the application has been reviewed and approved, a home visit (whether virtually, or in person) will be scheduled.

*Note: For those with technical limitations, a link to a paper adoption application is below.  This application will need to be printed, mailed to Albert's Dog Lounge where it will be scanned into our system and your data manually entered into our database.  This process will cause a delay in the typically application process time. We strongly encourage all applications to apply electronically where possible.
