In Loving Memory of Penelope
Fourteen Years of Gentle Thumps and Quiet Grace
It is with profoundly heavy hearts but a lifetime of beautiful memories that we announce the passing of Penelope, our beloved companion who peacefully crossed the Rainbow Bridge today at the remarkable age of 14.
To those who know house rabbits, 14 years is not just a long life—it is a legendary one. Penelope was a tiny soul who filled an impossibly large space in our home and hearts, proving that the quietest creatures often leave the deepest paw prints.
A Legendary Journey
Penelope lived through seasons, style changes, and rearranged living rooms, remaining the one constant, comforting anchor in our lives. She was a rabbit of strict routines, impeccable standards, and a few deeply held passions:
- The Banana Sovereign: Penelope possessed an uncanny, almost supernatural ability to hear a banana being peeled from three rooms away. No treat was ever safe from her determined, twitching nose.
- Architect of Carpets: In her younger years, she was a passionate interior designer, constantly re-arranging blankets and "customizing" cardboard boxes to fit her exacting specifications.
- The Master of Binkies: Though her jumps grew smaller and her naps grew longer in her golden years, we will forever cherish the memory of her youthful, mid-air twists of pure joy.
"She didn't bark to greet us or meow to demand affection. Instead, she gave us the ultimate honor: a soft nudge of her head against our hand, a gentle purr of teeth-clicking content."
Rest in Peace, Little Queen
As her muzzle turned a beautiful, snowy white and her hops transitioned into a slow, dignified waddle, Penelope’s sweet spirit never wavered. She taught us the art of patience, the comfort of silence, and the profound bond that can exist between two entirely different species.
She leaves behind a quiet living room, an empty clover patch, and a family who will miss the rhythmic, comforting sound of her evening grooming sessions.
May the meadows in the sky be lush, green, and completely free of vacuums. Sleep well, sweet girl. You gave us 14 years of pure, unconditional love, and our world will be a little less magical without you.
